Riki's thoughts

One lazy Sunday morning after our fun run Riki, my husband told me he wanted to make his own blog. It seems that blogging is getting contagious in our family. I blogged  first followed by  rico then now he wanted his own blog!


I handed him the note pad where he would write down his drafts and he was quiet for a while. What i thought was a serious stuff turned out to be funny and I wanted to share  how his first entry goes.

        Did u know that the 'name' itself of our job tells everything  what we do?here are some funny things that happened when I tried to de-fine (lose the real fine meaning) of some of the jobs in the philippines...some maybe funny but maybe happening...

          I mentioned PHILIPPINES.. uunlad pa b tlga pilipinas..? wag ka na umasa.trace ur history!.. o PHILIppines ( choose,elect) pili tayo ng pili ng presidente wala naman pagbbgo.. phiLIPpines ( labe,bibig) puro lang lip service.no action!... philiPPines ( mute,speechless,no voice).. la tyo boses,if we have, they would just land on deaf ears! ...pHILIppines ( from the word ' hilly') tlgang baku baku at masalimuot na tlga buhay natin dito...so wats left 4 us... anu b dulo ng philippINES...kaines!!!


ok.jobs na tayo.who else will come first.. el presidente
PRESIDENT.PRES-i-dent ( ipitin,ilugmok) .. pres-I-dent ( ako)..sya pala d ako..pres-i- DENT( ngipin!) the president will push and press us till our last tooth!


VICE - PRESIDENT - same as the president, may  VICE nga lang,do i still hav to define? pwede din BUYS ( bilmoko) bilin ko to, bilin ko un


SECRETARY  - obvious ito.. SECRET (lihim,tnatago ) ARY ( possession) .. d mo tlga mabisto mga pag aari nla,...


SENATOR -  SENATor ( feverish, may lagnat)..the best excuse when accused!..senATOR ( end of alligator..gator ) ..

enough na. but i want to clarify that i de- fined the word philippines and the rest of the words SEPARATELY .. huh.


De- fine ko na nga lang job ko.I might be incriminated ur honor. actually , its there in the word JOB.

To our colleague and friends who might be reading this entry, this is just for the laugh.  I think riki just wanted to inject humor in his work and family life  after all laughter is still the best medicine : )

The Biggest Loser!

Last night Nica asked me to check on her journal which she will submit the following day.

It has the usual name, age, address, birthday

and here's the part that made me laugh : )
          
              "My favorite food is fried chicken and anything on the table!"

                                                       and that is why.... he he he


This is not to embarass my only daughter but to encourage her to win in our family's version of
"The Biggest Loser". Last June, I persuaded my husband and my kids in our version of the show  and  whoever wins gets a gadget of their choice from mommy.  Rico wanted a Macbook Pro, Nica an iphone5 (w/c will be released later this year) and RJ's still thinking...while their dad wanted a Rolex watch. Awarding will be on December 23, 2011 so I still have time to save  : )

 This is to encourage them to start feeling healthy and conscious with ones look. Since I started running I realized the value of a healthy lifestyle. And the best way to begin is by having a healthy body.
Its really hard to get away with the KFC, Jollibee's, McDo, Pizza & soda, but I'm trying my best to
give them alternative foods like fruits, yogurt, nuts and wheat bread. Gone are the days of iced tea during meals. What I have now are unlimited coconut juice at the ref.   Our weekends are now spent on "fun run" instead of shopping at the mall.

So far, Ricky already shed 9 lbs and is aiming to lose more.  Rico lost few pounds already and he is very strict on what he eats now. Sometimes I have to remind him to eat more as he is a growing kid.
 With my youngest son RJ , i just let him be.

One time I brought home a box of Toblerone given by one of my patients. Here's our conversation:

        RJ: Mommy, give me 1 pc of toblerone

        Mommy: RJ, remember our contest...the biggest loser?

        RJ: Mom, its only July! I still have lots of time . C'mon the choclates... : )

See, how convincing my youngest son.
I think he can get another award..."the biggest user"  : )
He's always using his charm to get mommy's attention.

i was looking at our old albums last night because my son rj  needed a baby picture for his school project  and as i scanned through the pages i was surprised at how fast my children grew and
i also noticed how riki my husband and i matured through the years.

pictures tell a thousand stories, indeed even more! 
and i'd like to share some ....
how fast my little babies "transformed" into  teenagers now.


our eldest son is RICO..

we named him Maverick 

as a child his early favorite.. "alphabets"

then  " justice league"

till he discovered the "www"

now he loves "apple"

then came VERONICA ROSE

named after my favorite lola

Nica is a very sweet girl

RJ is the youngest, 

he weigh 9.4 lbs at birth!

i know i could never bring back those days but sorting all these picture in this blog would make them feel like timeless. my kids smile mark  memories in my heart.

my husband riki did'nt change much except for his waistline and outlook in life..
he's more matured and very understanding. (i think i'll get a protest fr him)

and..the mommy...i know i have matured..

a lot of learning to do as a young mom

motherhood is a lot of fun

and entails a lot of sacrifice too  : )

...i'm a middle aged mom now...

but i think nothing compares to the wisdom that i have gained through the years.
the lines on my face tell a story and lessons learned from it.


riki and i saw their transformation from a cute toddler to a curious tweens,
each child with their likes and favorites and are unique on their own


how they grew up so fast ..i can only remember
but how they will be in the future...i can only pray.

as a parent we could only hope for the best in our children.
