On Being Hermana

When i was offered the position of being hermana mayor during the fiesta of Sto Nino in our town i did not hesitate to say yes. while i know the gravity of responsibilities bestowed on the title i felt that i would be given an opportunity to give back and honor Sto Niño who had been the guide of my life and for all the blessings he had given me in the past years.

raising funds  for the church construction particularly the altar was our chosen project. to be able to materialize our goal  we decided to raffle a brand new toyota vios and make a souvenir book for the fiesta.

im so happy that the fiesta in over and were in the final phase of reaching our goal.

so many people to thank for on this joyous occasion....id start with the "wind beneath my wings".,,

id like to thank my mom...Dra Rosalinda Mendoza for being in charge of the solicitations . in moments like these i know i can count on you.

my siblings esp my brother mayor who gives immediete response to my request...be it traffic reinforcement or basketball league and even financial help.

my loving husband for without him i could not do my task on time.

id like to special mention my father the late Dr Pablito Mendoza whom I miss so dearly on occasion like this...this one is for you papa! im so honored to have followed your footstep as hermano like you were 40 years ago....1973.

id like to thank my co president Rene de Leon and wife  Debbie...im so lucky to have you as my co hermano because you are more diligent and hardworking...and you even went as far as USA to solicit funds for our project.

to our new parish priest Fr JV and asst parish priest Fr Mon. though  you are still new in our parish you gave us your unwavering affirmation to our chosen project.

to the PPC (parish pastoral council) and SPPC (sub parish pastoral council) , PREX, ME community, BYC and other church organization...you have deeply touch my heart with your overwhelming enthusiasm in our projects.

it is also noteworthy to mention the support of our barangay captains and councilors from Poblacion and Tanawan. their participation in "alakos making contest" added a festive mood all over our town.

at times i feel discouraged because its really difficult to ask favors to other people.
i was apprehensive that we could not raise much fund for our project but the devotion and dedication of our people to the Sto. Niño made it all possible.

to our kababayan, relatives and friends  and facebook friends alike...both here and abroad...through your untiring generosity as donors and sponsors we could see the fulfillment of the completion of the church construction esp the new altar(retablo) in the near future.

To God be the Glory!

Thank You Very Much.
