Birthday & Christmas in Kuala Lumpur 2014

Two days before Christmas is my birthday so I treated my family with a trip to Kuala Lumpur.

Though we've already been to Penang Malaysia as a side trip from our cruise ship years ago I was surprised that this big city is very modern with skyscrapers, modern bridges and wide roads.

Travelling with my children seem easier now that they can do their own tasks and errands.

They are obviously light packers like their dad.

I always  busy myself reading on the "must visit" places on the internet. Thanks to bloggers who share their travelling experience!

This is a chance for the kids to enjoy bus and train rides in the city. Kuala Lumpur was a great discovery!

What could be more amazing than seeing the tallest "twin towers" in the world…Petronas.

It was a different view from daytime…

...to nighttime with the smogs at the top. What a spectacular manmade structure!

KL is a shoppers haven. I love their malls especially at the Bukit Bintang area. They also have their version of Chinatown at "Petaling Street" with all the bargain souvenirs around.

Did some side tripping at Batu Caves. We saw the statue of Hindu Gods, fed some monkeys and pigeons along the way and climbed the steep stairs of the cave.

Took the metro train at the Central station. I admire their train system as you can go places for a lesser price.

Cant miss visiting their  gardens and nurseries and brought home some of these plants…

It was like New Year in Christmas eve as people, mostly tourists, gathered along the streets . People of all ages used noisemakers, confetti and snow spray to add revelry to the occasion.

We stayed at Novotel which is just a in front of Pavilion Mall.
Truly a worthwhile moments with my family at a different country.

Malaysia is truly Asia!

Weddings

Last December I had an opportunity to witness a rare occasion of a mass wedding held at St. Martin orphanage.

Rev Fr Boyet Concepcion officiated the ceremony and initiated the idea of this mass wedding as he wants them to be officially and spiritually blessed.

Its like a scene in the movie as the blushing bride's await for their grooms. The simplicity of the church made this a very solemn ceremony.

Every bride and groom looked radiant  in their best attire. Their children and families acted as secondary sponsors. They were even serenaded by the choir and violin ensemble of St. Martin.

The honourable Mayor Arnel Mendoza stood as principal sponsors to all the couples. He also gifted them their wedding rings.

May they live happily ever after.

Kaya ko Kayaking!

Obviously running is second nature to me but adventurous as I am while running by the riverside I noticed this vessel floating by the river.

I gave it a try and paddled my way out. I liked what I felt. This is in contrast with running as I have to exercise my upper extremities.

The following week...this kayak was born.

I had the unexplainable excitement to this newbie.
I watched videos from you tube and reading from google made me find myself into it.

This time its my hands that bring me to serene places which contrastingly I cannot find in running.

There is gliding and swift flowing and coordination between kayak and the water.

There is that satisfying passivity of that stroke. Truly a working exploration.

I am simply amazed that my body, both hands and feet can bring me to Gods wonderful creation.

Now…its a family affair.

Sto. Niño Hospital Hawaiian Christmas Party 2014

I couldn't let January pass by  without reminiscing our Christmas party.

The thought of that "hawaiian" theme  during this season puzzled me as the weather is cold...

but nonetheless, I finally gave in to the idea.

Everybody was in their best costume  and they all looked stunning.

Through the years I noticed that our party is getting grander and more fabulous.

Foods served by Cristys catering were enjoyed by everyone.
It felt good seeing our staff , families and friends dancing and enjoying the night.

Congratulations to the winner of the dance competition. Efforts were sincerely appreciated  as they  give their best to have  a memorable show. You're all winners!

Of course…the man behind this successful event…Raymond.

Id like to thank you for the extra mile you poured on this occasion  so we can cherish this awesome event with laughters and good cheers.
Kudos to you!
